NDINGUBANI NA? WHO AM I?
During my travels to Mozambique, one of the things that stood out to me most was the Capulana, a traditional piece of cloth that serves as an everyday staple, particularly for women. The Capulana is a vibrant fabric adorned with various patterns and is commonly worn around the waist as part of daily attire. Some women wear it over their jeans, while others wear it on its own as a casual garment. What drew my attention was not only the beauty of the fabric but also its duality. It is both practical and deeply symbolic, carrying cultural significance while seamlessly adapting to contemporary styles

STYLING: NDINGUBANI NA? WHO AM I?
The styling direction is rooted in the concept of high fashion meeting tradition. It explores the possibilities that emerge when fashion transcends conventional boundaries and brings together two seemingly contrasting sartorial worlds. Through this juxtaposition, we investigate the dialogue between contemporary luxury and cultural heritage, asking: What is born when high fashion is paired with tradition? This editorial aims to answer that question by creating a visual language that is both innovative and deeply rooted in ancestry. Through silhouette, texture, and styling, we seek to reimagine tradition within a modern context, proving that heritage and high fashion can coexist, evolve, evolve and create something entirely new

CONCEPT: NDINGUBANI NA? WHO AM I?
For “NDINGUBANI NA?”, we will explore the duality and complexity of identity through fashion, creating a space where high fashion meets tradition. Through this exploration, we aim to reclaim and rewrite the stories of our lineage that have been erased, celebrating the intersections of culture, memory, and selfhood.

THE FUTURE OF NDINGUBANI NA
For the future of NDIGUBANI NA? I want it to become more than an exhibition of images, but more of a self-discovery movement through an exhibition. The exhibition is a journey from questioning "Who am I? " To understanding "I belong to both."

THE MERGING OF TWO WORLDS
This body of work desires to create an environment that invites audiences to reflect on their own histories, the cultures they have inherited, the cultures they may have lost and the parts of themselves they are still learning to understand.

DUFFLED MAGAZINE
Duffle Magazine is based in Kampala, Uganda, and is a magazine that explores the intersection of art, culture and chaos. Style & Grace had the honour of featuring on this internationally recognised platform through styling Bayethe Ntuli, who was featured for one of the Duffle Magazine issues, which explored the theme of “Forces”.

The styling concept was centred around a contemporary editorial inspired by Black family archives, vintage tailoring, jazz culture, and the quiet beauty of craftsmanship. The photographs should feel intimate, cinematic, nostalgic, and intentional, as though they’re memories recreated in the present

DUFFLED MAGAZINE: THEME
The theme of Forces is a visual exploration of inheritance beyond blood. It tells Bayethe’s story of how her grandparents shaped who she became, not through instruction but through the lives they lived. Her grandmother introduced her to craftsmanship through sewing, while her grandfather introduced her to culture through jazz, politics, and timeless style. Although she chose creative direction instead of fashion design, she still tells stories through clothing, imagery, and emotion. This body of work is about carrying her grandparents' legacy into a new generation.

A Community of Love
Welcome to A Community of Love : An Ode to Girlhood. This was a curated collaboration between Style & Grace and Stitches by Tia. In celebration of the community that always celebrates , heals and loves wholeheartedly I had decided to give back in a manner that showed my appreciation to the ones that continue to carry me. A Community of Love was a curated fashion experience where boundaries do not exist , and limits were explored.

ACOL - STYLING
The styling aspect of the shoot leaned towards pushing boundaries and exploring various ways of not playing it safe .As stated , it was a collaborative effort with Stitches with Tia and Style & Grace which meant the styling balanced both brands in terms of colour , pattern, shapes and silhouettes .

ACOL- STYLING CONT.
The S&G styling aspect gravitated towards bright, abstract looks that embraced androgyny ,masculinity and femininity. The play of accessories was featured through ties , handbags, caps and beanies as well as scarves. Further , the styling tapped into elements of maximalism combination of colours , layers of clothing and the creation of different silhouettes with abstract designs and shapes of clothes.

ACOL - MAKE-UP & HAIR
The idea with the hair and make up was to make it a part of the looks as much as possible. The styling of the hair and make up gravitated towards fun, bold and bright . We wanted the hair and make-up to be as crazy and as expressive as possible.
